i have been involved in real estate for about 40 years. In Beacon NY I personally redeveloped about a dozen properties and have gradually made my way to the Catskill Mountains and Cooperstown New York region. I became an Associate real estate broker while working in an independent office in Cooperstown NY. After spending 20 years in Cooperstown I moved over to Delaware County to the village of Stamford. Involvement in whatever community I live in has always been important to me, in Beacon I received the Hudson River caretaker Award for my efforts in environmental activism and in Cooperstown i was a trustee or board member of several not for profit organizations including Historic Hyde hall, The Otsego Land Trust and Brookwood Garden. I was elected Mayor of the Village of Stamford in 2019 where I am in the middle of a four year term.
In addition to my career in real estate and now public office I am an artist. I paint primarily landscape in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountain regions. My work is traditional in style and collected widely in the uS as well as internationally. In 2016 i was fortunate to have the opportunity to exhibit my work at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown in a solo format for the 2016 season. I have also exhibited widely in the us and have been featured in many art publications including American Artist Magazine.
I think my broad experience in the region, that as artist, Realtor and now Mayor of a Catskill Mountain village gives me a particular insight to the market especially when it comes to historic homes. I have a true love for the region and and always happy to share that with real estate clients. After rehabilitating and restoring many historic homes I can navigate buyers past the initial fears of condition issues and help them navigate a path forward with an antique property.
here is an example of my work. This is a view of North and South lakes in the Catskill Mountains I did many years ago. The locations made famous by the artists of the Hudson River School are particular favorites of mine.
